We are thrilled to share that nearly 50 students from Metropolitan Ballet Academy have been cast in Philadelphia Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker at the historic Academy of Music this winter!
This treasured holiday tradition, brings E.T.A. Hoffmann’s timeless story to life with dazzling choreography, spectacular costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score performed live by the Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra. For our students, it’s an extraordinary opportunity to perform alongside world-class professional dancers on one of the most celebrated stages in the country.
The Academy of Music, affectionately known as “The Grand Old Lady of Locust Street,” is one of America’s oldest and most beautiful opera houses. To dance there is a dream come true for our young artists - an experience they will carry with them for years to come.
This accomplishment is also a reflection of the dedication and artistry of our faculty and the leadership at Philadelphia Ballet. We extend heartfelt thanks to Caroline, Davit, Charity, Maggie, and Lisa for their tireless commitment, mentorship, and the inspiring guidance they give our students every day.
Performing in The Nutcracker is a magical milestone that represents countless hours of hard work, passion, and joy. We could not be prouder of our dancers as they take this next step in their artistic journeys. Bravo to all!
