Last night, we gathered to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man—Wally Loeb.

Wally was not only the longest-standing donor to our Boys’ Scholarship Program at Metropolitan Ballet, but also one of our most steadfast supporters. Since the Boys’ program’s inception in 1999, he never missed a single performance. His presence, his passion, and his belief in the transformative power of the arts helped shape the futures of so many young men— our Met Men —who found their voice through dance.

At his celebration of life, a beautiful community of musicians, dancers, artists, cultural leaders, families, and friends came together to honor his legacy. Four of our men performed a moving tribute in his honor—and they were absolutely stunning. Their performance was a reflection of the inspiration and opportunity that Wally helped nurture over the past two decades.

Wally’s impact on Philadelphia’s cultural landscape is profound, and his love for the arts will continue to ripple through every step our dancers take. We are endlessly grateful for people like Wally—and for moments like this that remind us why we do what we do.

Thank you, Wally, for everything.
